In this weeks session we as a group were tasked with speed painting. It is common practice and an expected skill from us as concept artists to draw/paint an image/concept quickly and on the go.
For this task we were given 3 hours to copy and paint a scene in Photoshop from a physical image example. The scene depicted 2 young women glowing in moonlight in a forest setting whilst one keeps a watch and the other picks apples form the tree in the foreground.
This was the result of my work in 3 hours, honestly I like how it turned out however I spent too long painting the fences (which I think turned out good) that time would have been better spent on the 2 characters in the scene. The mountains in the distance turned out rather well, however without more time to detail the forest I ended up essentially "blocking" it out with colour, which in hindsight I could have done for the characters/missing features in my image to help articulate and depict the scene regardless of detail.
